People close to me know I spent the first four months of 2024 serving with a remarkable ministry called Frontline Policy helping with what I certainly hope is the first annual Run 2 Win Conference. Frontline Policy is two distinct organizations: Frontline Policy Action is a 501(c)4 dedicated to forging public policy and electing champions for conservative family values (if you know me, you know that’s my heart). Frontline Policy Council is a 501(c)3 dedicated to educating and equipping Christians to engage in the political sphere. Though two distinctly different entities, both work towards a common goal of glorifying God in the public sphere.
I was blessed to become acquainted with Frontline several years ago when invited to participate in a panel discussion. Once I learned about the organization and their work, I’ve been a fan ever since. When the opportunity to serve alongside these amazing people presented itself, it was an easy decision. I also thought since I’d been to so many conferences like the one described, I thought, “helping with that shouldn’t that difficult.” Goodness did I get a master level education from the Frontline pros!
First, I should point out that each member of the Frontline team was simply incredible to work with. Professionals one and all and I don’t hesitate to say that team is among the best I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Yep, on par with the professionals at Fortune 50 companies where I’ve also been fortunate enough to work alongside similar folks.
Second, the attention to detail of this team… wow! Cole Muzio, President of Frontline, has a deep network of relationships and worked tirelessly to line up speakers for main sessions and panel discussions that were engaging, relevant to Frontline’s core issues, and thought leaders that conference attendees wanted to hear from. That meant juggling schedules of dozens of people traveling from across the country to be there.
Then there is coordinating all of the activity for the general sessions and around sixteen breakout sessions spread out across two days, two exclusive breakfast events, and two VIP dinner events. That coordination included IT needs, communication needs, managing volunteers, changing over rooms for different uses as needed, and on and on. I’m not sure who had more capacity to keep all of this straight, Cole or his wife Spencer (quite a team!), along with members of Frontline’s strategy team, Church Ambassador Network, Director of Communications Paige Morris, and a brand-new Vice President of Advancement in Craig Hansen that you’d have thought had been with Frontline for years.
You really can’t talk about a conference like this without mentioning the amazing partners that helped make it happen. Patriot Mobile, The Heritage Foundation, and Greater Georgia were Victory Partners whose support was simply invaluable in making Run2Win happen. For me, the opportunity to meet some senior members of these organizations was both special and reinforced their understanding of the importance of a conference like Run2Win and the work Frontline does in Georgia. Of course, there were other partners that also helped make the conference possible (actually, too many for a blog post like this!).
Thought leaders? Yep! Remarkable speakers? Of course! Sitting members of the US Congress, a former US Senator, former Secretary of State, prolife advocates, founder of the largest Christian foster care agency in Georgia, my friend Pastor Benny Tate, and the person I most wanted to meet, Attorney General of Mississippi Lynn Fitch who requested the US Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade when they heard the Dobb v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.
As I mentioned on social media, this was a remarkable conference in so many ways. Georgia is a pivotal state in the 2024 election cycle and even if you don’t follow politics that closely, you’d have to agree that elections matter. Frontline’s Run2Win conference sought to create a vision that champions life, liberty, and the pursuit of truth in a time of critical choices. Principled conservative leadership forging public policy that champions conservative family values…that is the goal and I’m for that.
I may never find myself that close to policy work again (I wouldn’t mind though), but I certainly have a different, heightened appreciation for those who in that arena on our behalf. I think it’s worth your time to learn more about the Family Policy Council group of organizations around the country doing work very similar to that of Frontline. There are others out there too, a lot more than you’re probably aware of.
I will be sharing a family update soon! Our daughter graduated from college last weekend which was filled with so many emotions. There’s more on her journey and more on ours to share in the days and weeks ahead too, as we’re able. Drop me a comment if you have any questions or have feedback! You know I’m always ready for some of those!
