If you find yourself how you should map everything you’re setting out to accomplish, you’re not alone.In church administration, “program” often refers to a ministry such as kid’s worship, student Bible study, or choir rehearsal. The program nomenclature will change from generation to generation or minister to minister, as each shares their vision for accomplishing the mission. A program can also be defined as anything that requires people, property, and finances and thus has to be scheduled.Let me illustrate this idea. Worship has to be programmed for Sunday at 11 a.m. The people who serve need to know when to be there. The property has to be reserved for the time allotted. By Baptist and Reflector StaffMURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Tennessee Baptists celebrated their 150th anniversary Nov. 11-12 in a meeting that kicked off with an International Mission Board Sending Celebration. Messengers adopted a new budget plan, elected officers and overwhelmingly approved a new initiative that outlines the future of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. Registered messengers totaled 836 from 468 churches.Jay Hardwick, senior pastor of Forest Hills Baptist Church, Nashville, was re-elected without opposition for a second term as president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Joining him as officers are Justin Hiens, pastor of Second Baptist Church, Union City, vice president; and Mike Hensley, director of missions for East Tennessee Baptist Association, second vice president.
